As a parent or new Mumma, we ALWAYS put the needs & best interests of our little ones ahead of our own. Things like swimming lessons, music classes, reading groups, playgroups, kindagym …. the list of activities that we now feel pressured to take our child to really is endless.
So, what if you could do something great for your little ones AND something for YOURSELF (Which in turn helps your entire family) The ‘happy wife, happy life’ saying needs a ‘Happy Mummy, Happy Family’ version, because it’s so very true.


At Pre & Post Natal Training with GETT Fitness, my aim is to create a safe, nurturing & supportive environment for all mum’s or mum’s to be and your little ones. A space to safely nurture & strengthen your body on its pregnancy or post natal fitness journey. But in a group fitness class setting. So you’re exercising with like minded mummas. Under the guidance of a qualified & experienced Pre & Post Natal Trainer who’s a mum as well and really does understand the physical and mental aspects of motherhood.
Why it’s great for your little ones?
1. They get to socialise with other babies & kids.
2. Bub is exposed to various sounds, movements & stimulation which helps with development.
3. Bubs are often incorporated into the exercises 😊 as the functional / real life weights, but to them it’s often a game & great fun with mum.
4. They get to be with you while you exercise. This can really help with the mum guilt of leaving them in a creche. But, you are absolutely welcome to come do classes without bubs as well & have some YOU time!
5. They get to see you exercise. This sets a fantastic example that exercise & movement is important. (New research shows real influence of parents on physical activity.)
6. They get to join in & learn some cool exercises practicing their gross motor skills in varying circumstances.

1. We can help reconnect & strengthen your pelvic floor & deep core muscles in a safe, educated environment. And work with specific modifications to enable group participation if you have a pelvic organ dysfunction or birth injury**
2. It can help relieve some of the stresses & frustration that can come with motherhood.
3. We can help train you body to cope with the postures of feeding, getting up and down with your baby, lifting baby & baby related items in, on & out of things.
4. Then as your baby gets heavier, older & more active, we can help train your body for your days that involve lifting, pushing, pulling, & carrying items with a baby or toddler on your hip, most likely in awkward positions.

The Mum’s & Bub’s Classes at Pre & Post Natal training with GETT Fitness are fun, social, interactive & let’s be honest, sometimes chaotic with little ones around. Even so, you will get a great workout in a supportive environment with like minded mumma’s or mumma’s to be.
AND sometimes, we just celebrate that you made it to class, and focus more on recovery & release then making any gains or losses 🙂

Mum’s & Bub’s Pilates (Babylates) Classes in Toowoomba

Babylates is my Specialised Pilates Classes for the Mum’s & Bub’s of Toowoomba from 6 weeks post birth.

These personalised classes use an array of Pilates exercises/stretches/muscle releases & equipment with specific programming for the postnatal months to help your body regain pelvic floor activation & deeper abdominal strength in a safe and effective way. Giving you tools, tips and strength & to then progress safely into more functional fitness. I work closely with your Women’s Health Physio & other health practitioners to ensure continuity of care for the best outcome for you.

Before you get started, I get an in depth history of your pregnancy/pregnancies & births. This information can & does play an important part in programming exercises during classes to accommodate your specific needs. Part of this history may involve correspondence with your Women’s Health Physio or other practitioners with your consent.

In these classes we also focus on the postural changes that may have occurred during pregnancy & also post birth as your body adapts to the many challenges of motherhood. Some muscles can be overworked and get very tight creating many aches & pains whilst other muscles might not quite be doing their job & need a little bit or re training.

Classes are kept to small numbers to ensure exercises are modified to your own ability & stage of recovery after birth. Bub’s are absolutely welcome and will be incorporated into some of the exercises as well or exercises will be modified for you if bub isn’t content doing what we’re doing.

And for all you wonderful Mumma’s that might be a little hesitant to come as you’re not sure how your little one will go….. We’re all mum’s in these classes & understand that our little bundles of joy dance to their own beat when it suites them. There will be classes when your bub is the angel child & very content, or maybe the hungry bubba that REALLY wants a feed right now, or perhaps the bub that decided it was time to poop as you walked in the door 🙂

*BOOKINGS are ESSENTIAL as class sizes are capped to ensure you get the individual attention you & your baby require.

*A letter of clearance to exercise will be required if your youngest child is under 12mths old. This can be from your OBGYN, GP or Women’s Health Physio.

Exercise During Pregnancy –

Pregnancy Pilates

The reality is that Pregnancy & Labour will be one of the most physically challenging events in a woman’s life. As with any physical event, if we train & prepare the body for it, then ‘the event’ is usually more manageable AND your recovery is usually better. Would you go run a full marathon (42kms) without any training? Sure, it’s definitely doable, but with the correct training & preparation the entire experience can be improved!

During pregnancy there are many physical changes our bodies will naturally go through as our babies grow & our body adapts. To accommodate these changes, our posture will naturally change. These postural changes can, and do, have a big impact on everyday life. Some muscles stretch & weight distribution changes whilst other muscles tighten or separate. All of which can create many aches & pains & can also make your birthing & recovery more challenging.

Exercising is very important during pregnancy and Pregnancy Pilates is one of the safest and most effective forms during this time both for you and your baby. However, certain pregnancy guidelines need to be followed and exercises performed should be prescribed specifically for the relevant stages of pregnancy by a qualified practitioner. With careful exercise selection & modifications for different stages of pregnancy & ability, Pregnancy Pilates is a great way to help your body adapt and ease into the postural changes that are certain to occur. Fitness training whilst pregnant should be conducted by a fully trained & certified Pre/Post Natal Trainer in the field in which you are interested in training, albeit general fitness, pilates, yoga etc.  Just being a mum doesn’t qualify a trainer as being Pre/Post Natally Certified. It’s an additional qualification with much more in depth knowledge & training in this particular area. Let’s be honest, there’s A LOT going on during Pregnancy & Postpartum & there’s many movements & exercises that can cause long term damage.

So don’t be afraid to ask your trainer regarding their qualifications & experience. (** If they’re not qualified, they may not be insured if anything goes wrong)

As previously mentioned, exercise selection during pregnancy is very important, as some exercises & positions can increase the chances of pregnancy complications & conditions. Some of these being Carpal Tunnel, Diastasis Recti (Abdominal Separation)**, Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD) also known as Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP), SIJ Pain, Pelvic Floor Problems (now & in the future), back pain & other posture related aches & pains. More serious medical complications may also occur. With correct exercise selection & stretches, specific to each pregnancy, you can train your body to be as fit & strong as possible during your pregnancy. Now here’s the real kicker! Every pregnancy is different & how your body responds to it with regards to exercise is different for everyone & possibly each pregnancy as well. Which is why exercise during pregnancy can’t be a ‘one size fits all approach’. Whilst there are exercise guidelines for pregnancy (Click here to view 2019 Canadian guidelines) & (HERE to view RANZCOG Guidelines), these are exactly that, guidelines. Please listen to your body & talk to your trainer if something doesn’t feel quite right, now is not the time to ‘push through it’.

February 7 WEEK GETT Results Challenge WINNERS

A MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS to our Members that completed the 7 WEEK GETT Results Challenge which started in February this year. You are now stronger, fitter, faster AND lighter.

Before we CONGRATULATE the WINNERS we want to give a shout out to our members with the BIGGEST/BEST Improvements in each strength & fitness testing area.

60 Sec Plank Challenge

Gill improved by 73sec in this test, but could have easily pushed on as she currently holds the planking record of 5min 12 sec in our 50+ years category on our honour wall.

60 Sec Weight Squats

Jodi increased her overall (Time Under Tension) by 208kgs and Louise by 176kgs

60 Sec Push Ups

Louise improved her Push Ups by a whopping 59% and can now do full pushups.

20m SHUTTLE RUNS (90sec)

Louise smashed her initial testing by 5laps and Mel by 2laps

60 Sec Sit Ups

Mel improved by 29% during the challenge. Going from 34 to 44 Sit Ups.

2.4km Run

Louise beat her starting time by 55sec during the challenge. A fantastic improvement.



Being fit & healthy isn’t just about losing weight, it’s about creating a lifestyle change. At GETT Fitness this is really important & we like to reward these positive changes. Louise really stepped it up during the challenge with the biggest improvements in 4 out of the 6 testing areas. She pushed herself every session, lifting heavier, running faster & taking on any challenge put to her. Louise also stepped outside of her usual routine of classes, making sure her body was challenged in different ways for her at different times. So a good exercise regime and also taking on our suggestions & advice on dietary changes Louise got fantastic results. AND she resisted the temptations of the many delights of ‘shared food’ in her work staff room for all sorts of celebrations. From the photos you shared your resolve was strong! Not to mention Louise lost 3.8kg’s & 4.8% Body fat during the 7 Week Challenge. WELL DONE LOUISE

2nd Gill with 1134.20 points

As you can see this was a close race for 2nd! Gill competed in 2 events during the challenge. Taking on the 15km Hike at the Milne Bay Military Challenge hiking the hills of Jubilee & Redwood Parks & beating her hike time from last year by nearly an hour. Then put herself out of her comfort zone by doing the 4km Peak to Park. Gill’s dedication and consistency every week helped her get strong improvements in all her testing areas after already starting the challenge FIT & STRONG, setting very high benchmarks for herself to beat.

3rd Paula with 941 points

Yet again Paula has placed in our GETT Results Challenge. Her dedication & commitment to her health & fitness has been fantastic. Paula competed in 1 Trail Run during this challenge, as well as a golf day & also doing additional walks & mountain biking on a regular bases. Paul has been training with us for about 18mths now and is definitely one to be reckoned with at sessions. She already started the challenge FIT & STRONG. Paula smashes it at every training sessions as well as a Personal Training Session each week. She is an inspiration to many of our members.


At GETT Fitness we don’t just focus on the number on the scales. We believe it’s far more important to lose body fat and gain muscle rather than just lose overall ‘weight’.  So our members focus on getting fitter, faster & stronger whilst eating well & making healthy lifestyle choices. With a fantastic 7.52% reduction of Body Fat and a 2.05% Weight Loss.

Pretty damn impressive for one of our more mature members 🙂 An absolute inspiration yet again. Gill started this challenge already in the healthy ranges for her weight & body fat, however she had a personal weight goal to achieve which was still healthy and achievable. Through her dedication to sessions as well incorporating her own additional training & making healthy food choices Gill has achieved great results and taken out the challenge. CONGRATULATIONS Gill.

With a fantastic 10.7% reduction of Body Fat and 3kg gain of lean muscle.

This is the perfect example of it not just being about the number on the scales. Mel actually gained overall body weight during the challenge, but as mentioned above, this gain was lean muscle. It’s been fantastic to watch Mel’s progress since starting training with GETT Fitness. When Mel started with us, she had previously had trouble maintaining a regular exercise regime. Well that was over 3years ago now, and Mel makes exercise with us an important part of her week. Then put the word ‘challenge’ out there and Mel’s in. Never one to back down, always one to push hard & inspire others to do the same. FANTASTIC WORK MEL

3rd Louise

With a 4.8% reduction of Body Fat and a 4.6% Weight Loss.

Being the Winner of the Rewards Challenge, it’s no surprise that Louise has also done very well in the Weight Loss component as well. Louise committed to the challenge not only by making exercise an essential part of her lifestyle, but also understanding and implementing healthy eating habits each and every day as mentioned above. Her new lifestyle choices around exercise and food have definitely made a big difference for Louise. GREAT WORK Louise.

*Special Mentions*

I want to give a special mention to Jodi who didn’t complete all aspects of the challenge therefore wasn’t eligible for the prizes BUT she did absolutely SMASH aspects of the challenge. Jodi had a massive 11.42% reduction of Body Fat, gained 2kg of muscle AND got her weight below a goal number for the first time in many years. What a fantastic effort Jodi.

**Tania – With a 1.5%% reduction of Body Fat and a 3.79% Weight Loss. Tania is super happy with her results & is feeling fitter, faster and stronger. ” I felt like a winner – not because of some of my improvements but over the 7 week challenge I’ve lost weight and i feel so much better. It is my best weight in close to 15 months and I feel like I can maintain this and keep going. One day i’ll conquer that run”

**Teagan – With a 4.95% reduction of Body Fat and a 2.14% Weight Loss. Teagan is super happy to be fitting into ‘that pair of shorts’ that she’s had for a few years but could never fit into. And is constantly setting new goals to achieve.
